Services
The Behavioral Measurement Shared Resource (BeMSR) Core can help you:
- Determine the relevance of behavioral measurement in your research
- Identify behavioral constructs to be included in the research plan
- Search for existing behavioral measures
- Determine whether or not a modification of existing measures is needed
- Evaluate the psychometric adequacy of the proposed or existing measures
- Determine sample size requirements prior to test administration via a power analysis
- Integrate behavioral measures with other cancer-related variables as part of empirical model building
- Estimate the reliability and validity of behavioral measures
- Co-author the relevant sections of grant applications, reports, presentations, and publications
- Archive and store the behavioral measurement core instrument for later retrieval and access by others

Rates
BeMSR Core services are free of charge for those VCU Massey Cancer Center members participating in pre-doctoral, postdoctoral or K-award training programs. An initial consultation is offered free of charge for all investigators. The service cost will be covered during the initial consultation for projects requiring a time commitment from BeMSR Core members.
