As an NCI-designated cancer center, VCU Massey Cancer Center is dedicated to the development of more effective approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment, and to the extension of these approaches to the communities that it serves.
Access to clinical trials by the broader community provides a benefit to individual patients and is essential to the advancement of science that will improve the clinical outcomes of cancer prevention and treatment.
Through the clinical research affiliations network, Massey is able to:
- Assist in the development of quality research programs in community-based oncology practices
- Increase the number of clinical trials available to community practices, including those initiated at Massey
- Provide ongoing education to community health care providers in cancer research, science-based standards of care and innovations in cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment
