Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) Instrumentation

AvanceIII 700MHz NMRThe high-field NMR facility situated in McGuire Hall on the Health Sciences campus features a Bruker Avance III 700 MHz NMR instrument with a Bruker Ultrashield+ magnet operating at a field strength of 16.4 Tesla. It is equipped with 4 RF channels and a Bruker QXI probe with automatic tuning and matching for the observation of protons while simultaneously pulsing/decoupling 13C,15N and  31P in addition to 2H decoupling as well as single axis pulsed field gradients and is attached to the University's computer network via a Hewlett Packard Linux workstation which is used to access the spectrometer.

In addition this instrument, structural biology core users requiring high-field NMR may also access, by prior arrangement, a Bruker Avance III 600 MHz instrument located in the Department of Chemistry NMR resource.
