Resources and environment

  • The Hybridoma and Cell Culture Laboratory is located in room 1-135 in the Massey Cancer Center building.
  • The laboratory contains a cell culture room housing a 4-foot biohazard laminar flow hood, water-jacketed CO2 incubator, phase contrast microscope. A larger general laboratory is equipped with a 6-foot biohazard laminar flow hood, standard binocular microscope, pH meter, balance, refrigerator, centrifuge, -20C and -80C freezer and a large CO2 incubator. The room also houses a standard autoclave, a Millipore reagent-grade water purification system, a 165 liter liquid nitrogen storage tank and four liquid nitrogen freezers for cell storage. The laboratory is equipped with a PC, Costar Transplate system and an automatic ELISA microplate reader. Finally, a virus-free animal housing facility for mice and rats is located in the same building and is equipped with laminar flow cage shelves.
