Thomas Palliative Care Foundation

About the foundation

The Thomas Palliative Care Foundation originated as the first not-for-profit hospice in the Richmond area in 1981. The foundation partnered with VCU Massey Cancer Center in 1996, and the Thomas Palliative Care Unit opened in May 2000, creating the only dedicated palliative care unit in Central Virginia.

Your support

Donations to the palliative care program allow the unit’s doctors, nurses and staff to create new innovative programs, extend the program’s educational reach and continue their work in developing important research regarding pain management and end-of-life care. Gifts will also be used to help provide the unit with day-to-day needs, which include essential assistance and resources for families and friends who are supporting their loved ones during their time of illness.

To make your gift to the VCU Massey Cancer Center Palliative Care Program, please visit our online donation page.

Alternatively, donations can be mailed to:
VCU Massey Cancer Center (recipient)
