VCU Massey Cancer Center

Social work

Social work services are available to patients and families of VCU Massey Cancer Center in order to address psycho-social and emotional needs that can accompany a cancer diagnosis.  Services include, but are not limited to, transportation resources, navigating insurance concerns, linkage to financial supports, and legal assistance.  Our Master's level trained oncology social workers may also provide counseling services to assist with coping with emotions related to an experience with cancer.  An on-site support group is offered the 2nd Wednesday of each month from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. in the Linen Powell Patient Resource Library and is open to all Massey Cancer Center patients, family members, caregivers, and loved ones affected by cancer.  Please ask your medical provider about getting connected with your social worker today.
