Our research focuses on creating an adaptive model to evaluate and quantify KIR-HLA interactions following hematopoietic stem cell transplant. This model quantifies killer immunoglobulin like receptor (KIR) expression on the surface of natural killer (NK) cells during reconstitution after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) in relation to the KIR-human lymphocyte antigen (HLA) scores. Our preliminary data has indicated an impact on both immune reconstitution and OS. This will allow us to use KIR and HLA genotyping prior to transplant to pick HSCT donors and improved post-transplant outcomes.
