My interests center on three complementary areas in health services and outcomes research: 1) understanding socio-cultural, behavioral, and structural/institutional factors that present barriers to health service access and to the prevention of cancer, 2) cultural congruence in the delivery of health care, and 3) improving access to and utilization of health care services in underserved populations by increasing the reach of evidence-based practices through dissemination research and culturally tailored health interventions. My work utilizes both qualitative and quantitative methods, including semi-structured and structured interviews, focus groups, and survey methodology while often incorporating community-engaged approaches.
