Autotaxin has been well characterized as a factor promoting tumorigenesis, including tumors of the CNS. At the same time, autotaxin has been found critical for the development and maintenance of the CNS. Research in my laboratory focuses on dissecting these diverse roles of autotaxin and on characterizing the molecular mechanisms autotaxin is involved in.
