I have a dual line of research investigating pediatric obesity treatment and obesity policy. My research focuses on children and adolescents from traditionally undeserved backgrounds and those at highest risk for obesity and cancer-related co-morbidities. In addition, my research systematically evaluates school food policies and programs and how changes to the school environment impact students' health behaviors, and ultimately their risk of obesity and related co-morbidities. I have two current NIH-funded studies: An RCT investigating the role of parents in adolescent obesity treatment, and a systematic evaluation of changes to the school food environment on students' dietary consumption patterns.
